Nonsurgical alternatives to facelifts have increased hugely in popularity in recent years and for good reason. The alternatives to traditional cosmetic surgery are safer and more accessible with drastically reduced recovery times if any.
There are various nonsurgical options available out there, and although they are much more affordable when compared to surgery, you still want to ensure that you choose the most effective option possible. HIFU in Sydney is one of the options you may have come across for nonsurgical treatment. If you’re considering this method, read on to find out whether HIFU treatment is safe for you.
We at SABA Medispa in Sydney and the Gold Coast highly recommend the High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (or HIFU) as your first choice in safe, non-invasive alternatives. This cosmetic treatment helps to boost natural collagen production within the tissues of the skin, resulting in increased tightness and firmness and providing a visible lift to facial skin.
HIFU has been shown to be effective for facial lifting, refining wrinkles and is a promising treatment that could ultimately replace surgical facelifts. We have performed thousands of safe and effective treatments for our clients, which have produced brilliant results without any of the risks associated with surgery.
What Can You Expect?
When the HIFU’s ultrasound energy is focused to target the layers just below the surface of the skin, the tissue is heated to a certain temperature. The heat causes the cells in the targeted area to produce collagen, resulting in often vastly improved skin tone and tightened facial tissue. The collagen is produced over time, and at around three months after the treatment, you will begin to witness the end result of the treatment.
The ultrasound beams cause no damage to the upper layers of the skin or the skin surrounding the treatment area and therefore it is undoubtedly safe.
During the procedure, you may experience minor discomfort, similar to a light prickly feeling or tiny electrical pulses. Some clients may choose to take a mild painkiller before starting the treatment.
There is no recovery time involved with HIFU treatment. However, you may experience mild redness or swelling, signs of inflammation which will gradually dissipate over a couple of hours. You might also experience some tingling for a few days, but don’t worry, this is a completely normal reaction.
There are only a few people who may be excluded from HIFU treatment. We are referring to clients with an active skin infection, open wounds or visible acne lesions around the treatment area. People with pacemakers or other electronic implants are not able to undergo this type of treatment either, and neither are pregnant women.
Clients who present with extensive sun damage and people who smoke may not enjoy the best results from the treatment.
